  • When you were at Brighton College, what did you want to be when you ‘grew up’?
I always had ambitions to go into the political sphere, and really enjoyed challenging arguments or debates. I also had a love of public speaking, so that fed nicely into this career path.
  • What are you now you've grown up?
A Sports Marketing Executive, who has recently changed career paths to join Brighton College Singapore as a trainee Teacher
  • What is your best memory of school?
Everyday walking into Hampden House, and having a free morning with my best mates, most of whom I am still very close with!
  • What was the best piece of advice you were given?
Rather than specific advice, it was more the belief that Dr Seldon had in me as a pupil throughout my time at the college. He allowed me to believe that my character flaws could be, and actually were, character strengths in certain professions!
  • What do you do you do as a career?
I ran a major European Football league in Asia, looking after all aspects of sport marketing, partnerships and promotion. However, I have recently decided on a career change, and have had the fortunate opportunity to join the newly opened Brighton College (Singapore) as a trainee teacher and assistant, hoping to qualify in 2021.
  • What does your job involve?
In my previous sports role, it was about creating standout marketing campaigns for athletes, teams and leagues to an Asian-focused audience and increasing the popularity of football in Asia Pacific.
  • What are the most challenging parts of your job?
In my last role, the legislation around players, teams and brands made producing authentic sports marketing campaigns and partnerships challenging.
I’m only one week into my role as a trainee teacher so will have to come back to you on that one!
  • What have you done that you are most proud of?
Moving to Asia, starting a family, and being brave enough to embark on a complete new career path.
  • What is the single thing that would most improve the quality of your life?
The ability to brush negative thoughts off more quickly!
  • What are the three objects you would take with you to a desert island?
A skipping rope, my kindle and some goggles!
  • How would you like to be remembered?
As a good father, who did everything he could for his friends and family. Oh, and for getting a rule changed at Brighton College concerning the length of boys' hair!
