They provided wonderful talks for our 4th form in the last week of term, regaling them with tales from A&E, bringing in student medics, some rather horrifying looking equipment and in the case of Matthew Staniforth a practise prosthetic head complete with injuries to 'treat'. As you can imagine the 4th form were duly thrilled.
We were also fortunate to welcome back TV director Nic Phillips (H. 1955-64) (Eastenders, Casulty, Doctors, Brookside, Goodnight Sweetheart, Birds of a Feather) , film editor Ben Stott (R. 1979-84) (BBC - Rolf Paints...The Jubilee, Treasures of Ancient Rome , The Crusades,, How to Build a Car, Beijing Olympics) and locations film specialist Ben Carter (C/S. 1993-98) (Kylie Minogue - Timebomb video, Keith Lemon's Lemonade, Britain's Got Talent 2012, The Bill, This Morning, Ant & Dec 'Saturday Night Takeaway'). Their inspiring multi-media presentation gave the College IT department a challenging afternoon!
Finally, Paul Samrah (L. 1972-77) Senior Partner, Kingston Smith LLP and Ed Allison-Wright (D. 2001-06), Director Centurion Group, joined forces to guide pupils through the maze that is Accountancy, Finance and Property professions. Pupils were encouraged to make the most of this fantastic opportunity to speak to OBs about their careers paths, and the Old Brightonians that came in were really impressed with the pupils questions and enthusiasm.
The College would like to thank former pupils who make these events possible, and the Old Brightonians office is particularly delighted to be able to facilitate such initiatives.
