Chris, an anthropologist and film maker, will be recognisable at the race on Sunday (25 February 2024) sporting his red crutches and wearing his Green Beret - achieved having completed the full 32 weeks training at Commando Training Centre Royal Marines (CTCRM) Lympstone as part of his ITV series 'Commando: On the Front Line'.

He is taking on the challenge in memory of friend, Royal Navy Commander Robert ‘Bob’ Hawkins.  You can read more about how he met Cdr Bob Hawkins, and about how training is going on the RNRMC website.

Chris was made an honorary Royal Marine in recognition of being the only civilian and oldest person to be awarded a Green Beret on merit.
