- When you were at Brighton College, what did you want to be when you 'grew-up'?
I always wanted to be a lawyer! Ever since I was a kid, always thought being a barrister was my dream job. I think it was because I liked the idea of standing up in front of a crowd and putting on a show. This all changed when I found out how much criminal barristers get paid... - What are you now you've grown up?
I work for LinkedIn - looking after their largest global clients in Asia - helping them with their talent acquisition strategy, their employee engagement and their sales across 12 markets. - What is your best memory of school?
I honestly loved all of my time at Brighton College. I look back with such fond memories. One of my favourite moments was when Seldon House won ‘House song’ with our rendition of ‘You’ve Got the Love’ by Florence and the Machine. That was one of the turning points which helped us lift the House Cup in 2011! What a result. - What was the best piece of advice you were given?
At school it was to always be a first rate version of yourself than a second rate version of someone else. Authenticity is key - and I appreciate this more and more every day. Since school, it’s been “if your decision is reversible, always take the riskier option”. I love this because if you’re not taking risks you’re not growing or learning. I was given this advice by a friend before I made the decision to move to Singapore and it was the best thing I’ve ever done. - What do you do as a career?
I’ve found myself in a Sales career. Never envisioned this as my career, but I fell in love with working with customers, and finding out what makes them tick, so sales is great for that. - What does your job involve?
It involves keeping our customers happy, helping them reach their goals and making sure they see value from our solutions! - What are the most challenging parts of your job?
Not being able to switch off at the end of the day! Always having to be ‘on’ for my customers. - What have you done that you are most proud of?
If someone told me I’d move to Singapore on my own at age 25 I would have laughed. I’m definitely most proud of this. I am also proud to be a part of the Women at LinkedIn committee working towards greater awareness of gender inequality and empowerment of amazing women in the workplace and also beyond that to their personal lives. - What is the single thing that would most improve the quality of your life?
Being more present. This is so incredibly hard to do. I find myself looking forward all the time, wishing away the days or anticipating the future. Before you know it, your life will be over. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift, which is why we call it the present... - What are the three objects you would take with you to a desert island?
If I wanted to survive, I’d probably take something to shelter myself, something to hunt with and some sort of insect repellent. If I was only there for a few days - I’d take a bottle of Gin, some chocolate and some cheese! - How would you like to be remembered?
Always laughing, always smiling and always being curious.
