The 38-year-old mother of two, who studied at Kingscliffe, was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in April 2022, despite never having smoked and with no history of the disease within the family.

Just one year later, after successful treatment at Royal Marsden, not only was there very little evidence of the cancer remaining, Emma felt well enough to realise her ambition of running the race and raising funds for the charity.

‘Without them, I wouldn’t be here,’ says Emma. ‘They really hold your hands during a very terrifying time, and actually make it so much less terrifying.”

Emma completed the race in an amazing 6 hours.

She appeared on GB News to talk about her race and fundraising efforts. Footage from her interview can be found here.

Many congratulations to Emma on such a remarkable and inspiring achievement.
