When you were at Brighton College, what did you want to be when you ‘grew-up’?

I wanted to be a F1 driver as I thought Nigel Mansell was a seriously cool man.

Tell us about yourself now you've grown up.

Sadly, not having access to a large number of go karts and being quite good at sums I pursued a career in finance and then investment.

What about your life now would most surprise your Brighton College teachers?

Hopefully I am self-disciplined and thoughtful.

What are your favourite memories of your time at school?

Brighton was often a magical place to grow up and long summer holidays after exams meant we had Baywatch-like summers (but with a few more pebbles).

What advice would you give to your school age self?

There is not much worth worrying about.

Tell us about your career history.

After being in the city for 6 years I founded my own finance company which was to have a longer term view. We focus on finding entrepreneurial people and funding them so they can fulfil their aims... and, I hope, those of many others along the way.

What does your current work involve?

I travel a lot still and spend my days in face to face meetings which gives rise to lots of learning opportunities and acts as a reminder that everyone has a different, and relevant, point of view.

What are the three objects you would take with you to a desert island?

A desert island? The principal ingredients to spaghetti Bolognese.

How would you like to be remembered?

I hope I can do more positive things in the future and get remembered for those.
