1. When you were at Brighton College, what did you want to do when you 'grew-up'?

To teach.

2. What are you now you've grown up?

Commodity trader who still aspires to teach. Possibly back at the College.

3. What is your best memory of school?

Constantly paying the school fees in cash out of an old Tesco carrier bag; seriously the sense of comradeship, sports, and being extremely happy.

4. What was the best piece of advice you were given

Yes you should apply to Oxford - from some people at least. Effectively believe in yourself.

5. What do you do /did you do as a career

Traded Copper / Maize and most recently Nickel both physically and terminally. Run Glencore PLCs Nickel division.

6. What does your job involve?

Managing people, building relationships, managing risk, making people, trading and investment decisions, making (and losing) money, travelling, staying healthy.

7. What are the most challenging parts of your job?

People and the markets post the GFC.

8. What have you done that you are most proud of

Stayed grounded, and close to my family.

9. What is the single thing that would most improve the quality of your life?

Time.

10. What are the three objects you would take with you to a desert island?

An IPhone, a kindle and beach umbrella.

11. How would you like to be remembered?

As people found me.
