At Christmas a luncheon was held at Good Friends in Preston Street for members and their families and we were delighted to have Simon Smith as a guest. The proceeds of a raffle were donated to the Daniel Braden Reconciliation Trust set up in memory of Daniel (R. 1987-92) who was killed in the Bali bombings of 2005.
At the Grand Lodge meeting held in London on 27th April 2011, and conducted by the Grand Master H.R.H. Duke of Kent, Grahame Carr ( A. 1953-56) was promoted in recognition of his appointment as Deputy Provincial Grand Master of Sussex.
New members have continued to apply to join the lodge and we are expecting to have added six Joining Members in three meetings which bodes well. Andrew Cayley Andrew Cayley (B/C. 1977-82), was initiated in February and we expect to see him again next month.
Future meetings are now assured at the College and near dates are June 1st and August 15th 2011. On July 23rd a social evening will be held on the Wey and Arun Canal at Loxwood for members and their guests.
Two Lodge Prizes will be awarded this year to College pupils for Design Technology and Physics. It is expected that the Lodge Scholarship (Bursary) will again be awarded this year to a potential Oxbridge candidate who might otherwise not be able to complete the A level course.
