Both the U16s and U19s were joint winners of the County Round of the National Schools’ Tournament and went on to represent Sussex at the Southern Region Tournament at High Wycombe. The U19s beat teams from Oxfordshire, East Hampshire, Berkshire, South Bucks and the Isle of Wight, but lost to Barton Peveril (Mid-Hamp.) and to Farnborough College, by one goal, which prevented them qualifying for the Finals. However, the U16s went one better by beating all teams in their section and qualifying, along-side Imberhorne (West Sussex), for the All England Finals on 15th May ’05.

Fiona Graves captained the 1st VII and promoted a strong team spirit and relaxed atmosphere within the squad. Fiona and Anita Dhillon were the only players remaining from last season’s team, but the high standards that they set inspired the younger players. Fiona was awarded the trophy for the ‘Most Valuable Player of the Season’ and Anita was named as the best defender in Sussex by the County coach and our ‘Most Improved Player of the Year’; both girls received Sports Colours and Sophie Kidson was awarded Netball Colours.

We produced eleven teams for fixtures throughout the term, and at the end of a demanding season, five teams – 1st VII, U15A VII, U15B VII, U14A VII and U14B VII – had only lost one match.
