Nick came along to our Property Group in October and is hosting a Brighton Property Group networking event for us in May (date to be confirmed), at The Lansdowne Place Hotel. The 1980s decade reunion is also being held at the hotel on Saturday 19th May, and we are most grateful to Nick for his on-going support.

  1. When you were at Brighton College, what did you want to be when you ‘grew-up’?
    1983 to 1988, I wanted to be rich!
  2. What are you now you've grown up?
    A Property developer and investor primarily in residential development, hotels and leisure. I have also created a serviced apartment business Max Serviced Apartments with over 400 apartments across the UK.
  3. What is your best memory of school?
    Beating Leconfield in a house rugby match having been way down at half time. I remember kicking the last conversion from the touch line which had to go over to win.
  4. What was the best piece of advice you were given
    You can do it.
  5. What do you do /did you do as a career?
    Initially trained as an accountant with Arthur Andersen and then went into property.
  6. What does your job involve?
    Taking dilapidated old buildings which are often listed and bringing them back to life.
  7. What are the most challenging parts of your job?
    The recession has been really tough with an incredible lack of liquidity for property projects.
  8. What have you done that you are most proud of?
    Becoming young property person of the year in 2002.
  9. What is the single thing that would most improve the quality of your life?
    A booming economy.
  10. What are the three objects you would take with you to a desert island?
    My kindle, a supply of magnum ice creams and a helicopter so I can leave.
  11. How would you like to be remembered?
    A loving husband and a great dad.
