"In 2011 my 21 year old son Ian was diagnosed with minimal change kidney disease, which resulted in his kidneys not processing fluid correctly and resulting in him swelling from 13 stone to 18 stone as a direct result of fluid retention. He underwent a year of chemotherapy and steroid treatment and is now thankfully in remission. I am trying to raise funds for Kidney research to help him and those with similar conditions, and to raise awareness of Kidney disease generally. Last year I entered the VLM but had to pull out two days before, and this year am riding to Paris on my bike from London in August."
