Ed Wells (C\/S 1993-98), Ollie Wells (C\/S House 1995-00) and two other crew members James Kayll and Tom Kelly have entered the Allum Cup 2011, a rowing race consisting of a 3100 mile crossing of the Indian Ocean

The expedition was chosen following the tragic death of a close friend Mark Evison, shot and killed in Afghanistan in May 2009. The crew are raising funds for the Mark Evison Foundation and three further charities; Light Dragoons Charitable Trust, Access Sport and Compassion UK. With the help of 950 guests attending the Indian Ocean Charity Ball at the Hurlingham Club, London on 29th October 2010 their fundraising target of £100,000 has passed its half way marker, currently standing at £53,000.

Throughout the crossing the crew will also be undertaking physical and cognitive testing under the guidance of Cambridge Cognition whilst also working alongside the National Oceanography Centre completing climate change research.

Whilst Ed and his crewmates have made fantastic progress towards their fundraising target, they would be grateful for the support of any OB who was able to help further. If you are interested in sponsoring the crew (charitable or corporately), please contact Ed Wells directly at ew@byt.com.
