When you were at Brighton College, what did you want to be when you ‘grew-up’?
A paramedic or a doctor…. I’m still studying to be a doctor!
Tell us about yourself now you've grown up.
I feel I’ve barely grown up since leaving 5 years ago! I am going into my 3rd year of medicine at the University of Cardiff, and I have been umpiring cricket at a high level, as well as playing for Wales Women.
What about your life now would most surprise your Brighton College teachers?
My old Matron would be surprised to hear that my bedroom is now relatively tidy…!
What are your favourite memories of your time at school?
Mattress sliding down the stairs in Head’s House (before we moved to New House) and sports with my mates.
What advice would you give to your school age self?
That bright colours are great…when worn with a semblance of styling.
What do you do as a career?
I am a medical student with an interest in Pre-Hospital and Emergency Medicine. I am also a vaccinator and healthcare assistant as well as a cricket umpire and player.
What does your work involve?
Vaccinating has involved chatting to a huge range of people and talking them through their COVID vaccinations. Being a healthcare assistant affords me the privilege of being able to care for people at one of the scariest and most vulnerable times in their life.
What are the most challenging parts of your job?
Not seeing a smile for months at work on the covid wards was tough
What are you most proud of?
Being selected to umpire the Hundred, and umpiring the England v India Women ODI series as 4th official.
What are the three objects you would take with you to a desert island?
Factor 50 sun cream, a sturdy tent and insect repellent….!
How would you like to be remembered?
As someone who never took life too seriously.
