Over the coming months, I hope to build on the work done by successive Presidents. We are launching our most ambitious programme of social events ever, starting with a special 5 year reunion for recent leavers and the current Upper 6th form on 16 December and all OBs are welcome to attend the London Drinks on 11 January, to which all spouses, partners, family and friends are very welcome. I hope that you will join me in celebrating 160 years of Brighton College at one of the many special commemorative events currently being planned, the highlights of which will be a May Ball and a Cricket Tournament against Tonbridge. We are expanding the directory of businesses and services operated by Old Brightonians, investing in better communication with our members, and hope to field OB teams, male and female, in even more sports than now.
Whatever you memories of Brighton College, if you have not been back in a while, you will find much that has changed for the better. With an incredible 1,200 pupils throughout the College, Prep and Pre-prep schools, it is a vast community, but as an Old Brightonian you remain part of that community. Along with the Headmaster, Anthony Seldon, I would like to extend an open invitation to visit at any time.
I left the College in 1991, and having only just turned 32 I believe I am the youngest President to take office. I follow in the footsteps of our first ever female President and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jane Haviland for all her work, especially in promoting the needs of our growing number of female members.
