We are very sad to announce that Mrs Stella Grigor who was 88 passed away on 19 September last month after battling bravely with Alzheimer's for a number of years in a care home situated in Nottingham.
Our mother, Stella was the dedicated Head of Fenwick House in the 1980's where she was greatly respected by students and staff alike. This was the only boarding house for girls in those days and many of its residents will remember mum, as we do, as kind, considerate, and patient.
She was a nurse in her earlier career but gave much of her time to supporting dad with church life and ministerial duties. This included in part a life of travel where mum and dad as a team worked and lived in Rio de Janeiro, Marbella in Spain and Tunisia. Mum also travelled with the Brighton College cricket team to India, and to other European destinations to support the school, and even her sons on sailing adventures along the Brittany coastline.
She loved embroidery and during her time with Brighton College, she successfully completed a City & Guilds in Embroidery, producing exquisite tapestries, hats, and home furnishings. Mum made wonderful friendships at Brighton College which have lasted a lifetime. I know this meant a great deal to mum.Throughout her life mum was dedicated to the family and gave her time freely to all of her children, grandchildren and finally great grandchildren. She was aways our star.
