The campaign is run by The Global Poverty Project, a wonderful activism group founded by my friend Hugh Evans who I met at Cambridge. You can check out their website here: http://www.globalpovertyproject.com.
This year I'm an ambassador for GPP and I'm very proud to be involved in their work. The GPP started the famous free concerts in Central Park - last year's headliner was Stevie Wonder. This year's concert, in September, promises to be unmissable...
The amazing thing about GPP is that they bring a sense of empowerment and joy to the at times arduous task of raising awareness about the most difficult and dark aspects of human suffering.
I am raising money for Build Africa, a charity based in Tunbridge Wells, with my 5-day-challenge, and you can follow my progress over the 5 days here at my LIVE BELOW THE LINE page: https://www.livebelowtheline.com/me/tamzin.
I am, of course, very delighted by any donations made, but my main reason for doing the challenge is to raise awareness about the 1.2 billion people who must survive on less that $1.50 a day. So please spread the word about the challenge and follow my progress throughout the next week...
With love, Tamzin x
