That past came back to haunt her with the arrival at court of a former lover named Francis Dereham who threatened to reveal their former sexual relationship. She didn't help matters by having an affair with Thomas Culpepper, one of the King's groomsmen. These liaisons finally caught up with her and, to Henry's considerable sadness, she was executed on charges of adultery..."
