You are invited to an Open Morning at Brighton College

10 facts about Brighton College
• We are the oldest public school in Sussex and the leading co-educational school in the South East.
• In 2008 and 2009, we had the best A-level results of any co-educational school in England. We hope to do the same in 2010.
• We have both day pupils and boarders. Our boarding community is the largest it has been since 1930 with two boys’ and two girls’ houses.
• We do not have lessons on Saturdays. We believe boys and girls need some time at home with Mum and Dad. We believe that family time matters.
• We have a national reputation for sport, music, drama and dance but our focus is inclusive not exclusive. No one is left sitting on the bench.
• Our pastoral care was recently judged ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted (2009 inspection), a reflection of the warm and happy environment you will find when you visit.
• We admit pupils at 11+, 13+ and 16+, with equal numbers of boys and girls.
• We believe that our location in Kemp Town on the edge of Brighton encourages our pupils to feel a part of society not apart from it. It also means we are 5 minutes walk to the beach!
• Our Art and Photography department regularly wins awards for being the leading Art School in the country.
• Above all, we genuinely believe in treating your child as the individual he or she is. There are no stereotypes at Brighton College.
